Our fantastic nursery has received a rating of 9.9 on Day Nurseries!

We could not of achieved this without our amazing staff team and supportive parents.

Chinese New Year at Hall Green

Here at Hall Green the children are exploring the Chinese traditions and culture in the lead up to Chinese New Year 2021.  The children in all three rooms in the nursery have been exploring the language and how letters and numbers are represented in a different way to ours and they have had fun trying out their skills at copying both letters and numbers using a variety of tools and different materials.  They have shown great enthusiasm and concentration to produce some super work

In Busy Bees we have transformed our Maths area into a Chinese restaurant, where not only have they been using mathematical language and developing their understanding of money and its value, but they have also been making fortune cookies, using noodles to create meals and mastering the skills of using chopsticks.

The children in Honey Bees and Busy Bees have also been counting 0-10 in Mandarin.  They have engaged with this well, showing fascination in the skill of using a different language other than English to count their numbers aloud.

Our younger children have spent time exploring through sensory play, including sand, rice and noodle play and the colour of the culture has been represented in these.

Hall Green's Foodbank Collection

At Hall Green we we are trying to actively work with other community groups within the locality of Hall Green. Highfield Hall Community Centre is local to the nursery and throughout the pandemic have been supporting the vulnerable and people in isolation by providing food parcels through their foodbank.

They rely on donations from people in the local community to continue this worthy cause. They support families in the locality of Hall Green, Acocks Green and Shirley.  We are going to be supporting this worthy cause by asking all our staff and parents to contribute to a food collection, which will start next Monday (30th November).

Helping Hands food bank at Shirley

This year has been a tough year for everyone, so at Busy Little Bees we have decided we want to give back to the community, we will be helping local charity with their food bank. Our children have been busy making their own special box for all donations!

Helping Hands supplies those who are most in need with food, toiletries and other essentials. But we need your help!

Your contributions will help to feed the most vulnerable among us at this difficult time; anything you can give will make a real difference! We would really appreciate any donations you can make and we can accept these at nursery! 🙌🏻🖐🏼💕

Busy Little Bees Nursery is 21 Years Old

What a year it has been.  Who ever could of imagined how 2020 would turn out. There have been so many changes, worries and uncertainty.  Back in March, we all thought that as Christmas approached, the lockdown, the virus, masks and social distancing would all be behind us.  Hopefully there is now light at the end of the tunnel and as we head into 2021, maybe we can start to see a brighter year with a return to a little more 'normality'.
